Peniarth Hunters Hill_Heritage Restoration & Additions

This 19th Century French Provincial Sandstone Estate was acquired by a History-enthusiast who wished to restore it to its former glory whilst simultaneously introducing an addition of a garage and a wine cellar through the excavation of the front-yard down to the secondary street which falls on the lower side of the property meaning maximum potential of the site was achieved with minimal impact to the heritage building.
SDA Architects primary involvement was to advise on achieving the desired aesthetic whilst maintaining the Heritage value of the property. Our design work focused on ensuring the building's modern-use; which included a lift and wine cellar; are encased within a sandstone façade to compliment the heritage architectural style without overwhelming the significance of the historic structure.
